Urban hacking,
90s edition.

We grew up smashing bricks and chasing mushrooms. So naturally, when we hit the streets of Istanbul, we brought Super Mario with us.

Inspired by the pixel-packed days of the 90s, we hacked a wall in Moda, Kadıköy with a life-size Mario installation—designed, printed, painted and mounted by the dream team at Onaranlar Kulübü.

The character was 3D printed using an adapted design from YECAP via MyMiniFactory. The green warp pipe? Laser-cut and stencil-painted to perfection. With the help of our concept designer Derin Gürgün and our unstoppable crew, this classic video game icon found a new home: the streets of Istanbul.

Because nostalgia isn’t just a feeling—it’s a tool. And we use it to build stronger emotional ties between people and their city.

So the next time you’re wandering through Moda, keep your eyes open. Mario might just pop out of a wall and remind you of who you used to be.
