Move your body. Strengthen your community. In collaboration with Beşiktaş Municipality, the Turkish Society of Cardiology, and Boehringer Ingelheim, we transformed a forgotten corner of the city into a place that makes active living accessible, inclusive, and fun—especially for those aged 65 and up.

Welcome to Yeşim Park Active Living Space.
Located in the Akat neighborhood of Istanbul, this unique spot is more than just a park—it’s a gentle invitation to move, connect, and feel good.

The story began with a question: What do people here really need?
Through a community workshop with local residents, we identified the gaps and challenges of the existing sports area. The result: a brand-new design by Abra Design Studio that reflects real needs and real people.

The space features two zones:

🧱 A Workout Wall for bodyweight training

🧘‍♀️ A Collective Activity Area for group sessions like yoga and pilates

All equipment was carefully chosen with the help of the 65+ Life Office to make sure it’s safe, comfortable, and empowering for seniors—without excluding younger visitors.By scanning QR codes in the park, users can access expert-approved exercise routines via the “Türkiye’nin Kalbi” platform—so movement doesn’t end when the workout does.

This project isn’t just about building a space.
It’s about helping people reconnect—with their bodies, their community, and the rhythm of urban life.
